I am a self-taught artist basically but have taken a few workshops along the way as well as reading lots of art books. Majoring in Interior Decorating in college really started me painting, as I learned how to watercolor. Also one took lots of art classes and basic drawing. Have been painting seriously for about 8 years. My paintings have been selected in many juried art shows. At one show I was selected "best creative artist". I love dogs and like to paint them most of all, along with other animals. My animal commissions are hanging in homes all over the US. I have to paint everyday and stop on breaks to play the piano which I started majoring in before changing to Interior Decorating. Flying for Pan American Airlines after college gave me the exposure to art that I could never do now. Saw all the great museums in Paris, London and all over Europe. Both of my grandmothers painted and I have their wonderful large paintings in my house. Sometimes I feel my grandmothers are standing by me watching me paint and guiding me.
